i am not so sure how i feel about hr giger showing his work [including the original alien costume] at loeb shopping center in bern…
today we went to see the window, which, to be fair, is the bernese equivalent to harrods window in london, and i will of course go see the exhibit on the forth floor [limited acces for 16+ audience only]…
but i am not sure: is it sad or is it great that this artist is reduced to a shopping window commodity?
and as a special “attraction” the store is holding a “spooky” night shopping event, during which the stores will open from 2300 to 0200 at night…
now that makes me sad.
I guess it is kind of sad, that he’s been reduced to exhibiting in a shopping centre….his work is decidedly un-mainstream though. so it’s kind of quite anarchic that it is available in the most mainstream place in any city….
it would all not be half as bad… quite okay even. the aspect that mainstream people are exposed to this rad stuff is really great. but what kills me is the night shopping event. now thats terrible…
