kindercity outfits kids with RFID chips1 min read

nuovo a new technology tv show on tsr, the french swiss tv station, informed yesterday, that kindercity, a kids science park in zürich, switzerland, tags its young visitors with an RFID microchips. the selling point is that this makes sure they only pay for stuff they actually visit. when they aproach an attraction, the RFID chip gets contacted and some money gets directly subtracted from their accounts.

brave new world – wir kommen.
is this a strategy to grow a future generation accustomed to RFID in a playful way, while avoiding to warn them of the possible citizens rights issues that might be infringed here?

in the same report i also learned that the biggest researcher in RFID is located in neuchatel, switzerland.
