bookmarks.net - a better del.icio.us?

or just a slower del.icio.us?

bookmarks.net is public bookmarking webservice - they call it open bookmarking service - that creates small screen grabs of the projects you bookmark. other than that its alot like del.icio.us, with a bit of a more fancy design and - at least here - slower load-times. i fear that with this added image element people will do more ego-bookmarking… we shall see.

oh and how do i link to my account??? hmmm

  1. Yeah, with all the images and not yet a dedicated server we’re a little bit slower. I don’t think our layout is just fancy, it’s more usable and more plesant too. Try it on a daily basis :)

Oh, and to link to your account :

  2. Hah, you even got one of the makers to answer your question! weeee :)

The thumbnailthing is really something i was missing for my bookmarks.I`m kinda visual guy, and i often associate a design or layout with my bookmark.

now i only have to manage myself to use a thirdparty service … i`d love to host something like that on my own account. (as usual)

  3. @francois: thanx so much for your info. you are right, the layout is not fancy, per se. its just fancier than del.icio.us…
@sis: i agree the thumpnails might come in handy at times…
