decodeunicode.org is an
independent online-platform for digital type culture, developed at the Department of Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz.
and it is bound to become THE ressource par excellence for all typography fanatics out there.
so here’s what happens when a german professor and a designer get together to build the all-encompassing wiki database to document all the unicode type faces there are. 50’000 [sorry got that wrong] 865 characters are already up there, while unicode encodes more than 50’000 on the basic multilingual plane – [and to think that i already struggle with the latin alphabet…]. unfortunately the site is not extremly intuitive to navigate, but there is tons of interesting information to be found.
