apple trusted or not

last week i mentioned cory’s rant re: apple & trusted computing.
so i think it’s only fair to now mention this reply Trusted @ daringfireball.net. [via waxy/links]
i am of course humbled by these thoughts and i now feel ashamed for believing almost everything cory had said in his alarmist rant. there were of course quite a few unfounded assumptions in cory’s text.

but i think what is also noteworthy here is the fact that apple did lose a lot of my trust lately. for awhile there apple could do no wrong. but with some of the actions and strategies i have seen apple take in recent times that trust has gone and i am willing to believe the most gruesome of scenarios. that says a lot, i think… especially from a long-time, enthusiastic, loyal apple-fan like myself. and i assume that many other people are in the same situation…
