shiny shiny shiny piece of plastic
here’s what i found out this week, fred and princess, two of the voices that live inside my computer, seem to be having an affair. a steamy one. i noticed when i tried to get fred to sing to the velvet underground song “venus in [plastic] furs”. fred refused to sing at first, but princess was very convincing and got him to perform. and perform he did, hell, perform they did. and the rest is history, the two of them have been at it ever since. “shiny shiny – shiny piece of plastic”. this episode has left me wondering, yet again, why do rockstars get all the girls?
please enjoy pieceocast. while it lasts. and tell a friend.
music borrowed [with all due respect] from:
1. pieceocast intro: a loop from amon tobin: hokkaido [chaos theory, the splinter cell soundtrack]; fred, the voice in my computer, samples
2. velvet underground: venus in [plastic] furs

a word about copyleft:
all music and audio is borrowed with the utmost respect for its creators. however, i do consider this to be fair use. this material is created purely for fun, to share with my online friends. there is no commercial transaction involved. as a long-time dj i own 5′000+ albums in vinyl and quite a few cd’s. all the music i use for these mixes, i either own a copy of or it was released under a CC-license to begin with.
i release all my work, the dj work as well as all my other coding and creating, under a creative commons license, hence i treat this material as if it was under CC license. i attribute it and i do not use it for commercial gain. don’t try to sue me, i am broke anyway.

that’s the whole point — those computer voices are un-natural. but then again, there are very few pop stars that can sig for shit, either. you need to run that voice through a vocoder….
play with this: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/sayit.htm
extreme variations sound nothing like voices and turn into wind pops beeps and breezes. boo-ya.
oh, look; he’s got a vocoder, too:
