but what did materazzi say to zidane?1 min read

its truely tragic what happened last night, i mean, i don’t like the french. but zinedine zidane i always kinda respected. very great player, very humble man.
and now this.
in his last international game.
will this forever after taint the image we have of this guy?
zidane’s wikipedia entry was already changed accordingly.
the video has been YouTubed.

zizou headbut

it would not make a huge difference, because the gesture is inexcusable.
but come on guys, communicate already, what did materazzi tell zidane that maid him lose his marbles like that?
was it a racist provocation?
was it something else?
can’t someone who is able to read lips make out what materazzi said to zidane already?

yet zidane still won golden ball award for player of the turnament [much better than the blue balls award]? how could that be possible with a gesture like that?
sends out the very wrong signal as well.

btw. why did the french lose? not because of zidane’s headbutt. the french fans were to blame. they chanted “allez les bleus”. but it must have somehow escaped their attention that on the field, the italians wore the blue shirts. not the french.

EDIT: zizou headbutt game, see how many headbutts you can get away with before getting redcarted [thx klav]

  1. @klav: kewl!!!!1
@dc’s: just where did you get info from that materazzi said” “the equivalent of a nigger and then said your the son of a terrorist whore” to zidane? and even if, does it justify headbutting him?

  2. thankfully the uk press find out info pretty quick and i have my sources too so if u want the facts from now on bookmark my blog and go look at my articles in my archives cheers.

  3. oh and yes that absolutely justifys the italian cheating nasty scum bag being headbutted.its a pitty it hit his chest id have kicked him where it really hurts!

  4. That is an interesting position you’ve got there, Dc s. I hope you will convince the FIFA to change its rules in your sense. We have far too much fair-play and far too little violence on tv these days.

BTW, the game is down. Mirrors, anyone? 🙁

  5. i agree with klav. i am sure mr. blatter will be more than happy to hear your suggestion, Dc s. this could really work to make the game more interesting again. lets call it “absolute football”, headbutts and grabbing of other players balls is allowed. the fans are allowed to throw tomatoes during and stone the refs after games. superb.
but uhm on a more serious note, i am glad to hear that your trust in the uk press rests unabated.
re: the game: just goes to show that one should always back up such flash files, sis is right, as google cache does not do the trick in this case.
