as the football leagues are slowly starting up again in most countries, the interseason of transfers and mediahypes is coming to an end. time for me to comment:
the most ridiculous transfer: david beckham manU –> real madrid aka “ichos de puta”: shure, the media had their field day, and the product beckham shurly makes the product real madrid much more marketable in asia or whereever, but can anyone tell me who’s gonna do the defending in this team of footballing popstars?
the most stupid transfer: hakan yakin fc basel –> psg: here, have a seat on the bench please, mr yakin.
the most sexy transfer: ronaldinho psg –> barca: oh the joy. one of my favorite players joins my favorite international club.
the most satisfying transfer: de boer barca –> whocareswhere: finally! the worst defender ever leaves barca. this calls for a celebratory trip to a barca game this coming season.
the most sad transfer: vonlanthen yb –> psv eindhoven: *sigh* we finally had a great talent… it was always a joy to watch you, go get them, johan!
the most politically charged transfer: jordi cruyff alaves –> espanyol barcelona: damn. when the son of barca icon johan cruyff joins the rivaling team in barcelona, a team with an anti-catalan pro-nationalist reputation, mind you, things must not be very harmonic in the house cruyff.
the most oh-please-lord-spare-us transfer: roi makay deportivo la coruna –> bayern munich: i think makay is one of the most highly overrated and stupid players ever. i think he is mostly downright lucky always stumbeling into the ball just so to make it roll into the net. but please please let him not join bayern munich. bayern are the worst and they do not deserve one goal!
