so far it was always a yes or no question.
do i copyright my work or don’t i?
creative commons.org offers a very elegant compromise, where you can reserve some rights, but still leave your work open to reproduction.
for instance you can choose a licence, that permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform your work, but asks them to attribute it to to you. they call this option by attribution with this symbol.
i am still hesitant what licence i should get for this blog. old hippie that i am i so far opted for the licence, that allows everybody to use my stuff with the exception if the work is used for commercial purpose. i am still hesitant to add the standard… hmmm. the cool thing is that it lets you adapt the licence to your needs later. great approach to this tricky matter of copyright.
