Kommentar 1. Mai in Berlin: Protestieren ist nicht grillen – “Der linksradikale Mai-Protest ist keineswegs zum Ritual verkommen, wie gern behauptet wird. Er war es von Anfang an. Die allererste Revolutionäre Mai-Demo in Kreuzberg gab es 1988 – als Erinnerung, Neuinszenierung, Wiederholung der Ausschreitung im Jahr zuvor. Denn die legendären Krawalle 1987, bei denen – so schwärmen noch heute einige Veteranen – Kreuzberg stundenlang „von den Bullen“ befreit wurde, wurden keineswegs durch irgendeine Demo, sondern durch ein Straßenfest ausgelöst, das von der Polizei attackiert wurde.”
