things best to avoid while on a dial-up internet connection:
open in tabs 1 click feature: safari has this great feature, that lets you open all the links in a bookmark folder with just 1 click.
this is an absolute no no on dial-up. my favorite blogs folder is still loading [its been 20 minutes!), and it only contains missie w tod, boingboing and diepunyhumans among others.
multiple google img searches: usually in our multitasking, polyvalent lil webnerd universe, we may have up to 23 google-searches running parallel in different tabs of our browser. well yesterday my browser pooped [not safari!] doing just 3 of them! sexy bond, red ants, furry things.. i know.. dont ask!
wait maybe i should try this in safari..
b3ta newsletter anim check: one of THE highlights of my week online has recently been checking out the b3ta.com newsletter. but of course, since we love the web, too.
but its not working out too well to try and load several of the featured anims in different tabs [command – click] of my browser…
wait, i think my face just fell asleep… and i really wanted to see this one, oh and this one too…
stay in touch with your IM buddies: [where are you mister alfie??] its not a good idea to try and stay in touch with yer IM buddies while on dial-up. its just too random. who is online when is after all scheduled in a rather loose way… and thats a good thing! of course there is always good ole email to fall back to, but uhm it sucks… yeah email is that thing over there where all the spam comes in…
