this website was built around a tv-show with the same name aired on the american public broadcasting network pbs. unfortunately i did not find a link to see the programm… hmmm.

was haben john kerry, george w. bush und alec v. graffenried gemeinsam? sie kandidieren als politiker fuer ein oeffentliches amt und fuehren in ihrem wahlkapmpf einen blog.
[momentary, shameless self-plug: den avg.ch blog haben wir konzipiert, gestaltet und programmiert]
im gestrigen tagi erschien nun ein entsprechender artikel zum phaenomen bloggende politiker. was in der schweiz immer noch die ausnahme ist, wird in den usa aber auch in england immer haeufiger gesehen. politiker nutzen die direkte auseinadersetzung mit ihren waehlern, welche ihnen ein blog bietet. am einflussreichsten war dabei die howard dean kampagne waehrend den demokratischen vorwahlen in den usa, die praktisch ausschliesslich auf einen blog baute. woraufhin alles was rang und namen hatte sich ebenfalls einen blog eingerichtet hat. in england nutzen immer mehr mps auch waehrend ihrer amtszeit sehr aktiv ihre blogs. eine gute anlaufstelle mit vielen links zu bloggenden englischen mp’s ist bloggerheads.com von manic/tim ireland, der bereits im juni 2003 geschrieben hat: why politicians need blogs…

blogging politicians was the subject of an article in the swiss newspaper tagesanzeiger. what in the us and england is more and more common in switzerland is still a rarity. alec v. graffenried is the notable exception, a local green politician in bern, switzerland, who’s blog we recently designed and built!!!

the art of imaging exhibit online: all my contributions to the art of imaging competition at moblog.co.uk made it in there, but uhm what does it mean… ??? teh cryptic. one guy won a smart phone and the rest is now on some website without propper reference nor attribution? hmmm. how is the copyright to these images now regulated?

… and embarassed … and ashamed.
switzerland has yet again officialised its xenophobia today during the national elections regarding the naturalisation of 2nd and 3rd generation foreigners…
this sucks major - and is so not fair.

and once more the openminded, french speaking, western part of the country has been outvoted by the farmers and cowfuckers from the eastern, xenophobic, swissgerman parts.

while in geneva more than 67% said yes to the initiative the whole of switzerland sacked it with an incredible 57% of no votes!

outch. we so live in the wrong country. i am more than ever in favor of a regional autonomy movement. and i will choose to join the french speaking part; the part that will join the EU, stop the xenophobia… etc etc etc.
and we will leave the farmers and cowfuckers behind, with their smelly cows and their cheesy politics.
no other solution.

yesterday i went to visit my sister and her 2 kids. cute as buttons. awwwww.
i know… everybody says this about kids in their family.
but in this case its the pure and simple truth. these kids are teh cutest! proof found in photos here.

my niece who is 5 got a pair of puma sneakers. just this morning.
for some reason she was extermly exited about this.
over the next few hours i heard variations on the theme: “guess what i got today? a pair of pumas” “have you seen my pumas?” “look! i got pumas“. on and on. then she asked me what brand i was wearing. when i said: “camper” this only earned me a very puzzled look.

then we went for a walk. and out of the blue my niece started singing: “puma nike! puma nike! puma nike!”. loudly.
you dont believe me? here’s proof in form of a a recording .amr. my sister gave me a concerned look. i have a politically aware sister. after awhile she even asked my niece to stop. which, in whatever developmental phase my niece happens to be in, made her continue… of course.

now i am obviously not gonna use crass words like fashionv…. or labelw….
because this is my niece we’re talking about, dude.
but the corporations sure are doing something “right” if they can get 5 year olds interested in demanding brand goods.
