pieceoBolitix ideeSwiss you can read it in the sunday papers

:flash: most upsetting, a double-page spread with an add for mammut ski gear. it shows a snowboarder walking right smack through what looks like an anti-wef demonstration, obviously unphased by the waterthrowers the police is employing against the protesters. not funny. just dumb.

:flash: 300 anti-wef demonstrators yesterday saturday 29.1. in basel encircled by 500 cops and only allowed to leave if they agree to show ID’s. most protestors from zurich were arrested upon arriving at the trainstation.

:flash: with apple and microsoft moving closer and closer, apple behaving more and more like microsoft, shall we start calling it applehard?
sonntagszeitung lists all the “evil” deeds apple has commited over these past few months against bloggers/journalists and by blocking iPod against non iTunes content with a firmware update. die dunkle seite des apfels = the dark side of the apple.

pieceoBabbel and the saga of ugly red continues…

i have already bitched and moaned and complained and whined on this blog about my neighbor from hell aka ugly red - a few months ago.
well, she just got back - with a bang, must i add? - from a 3 month trip to new zealand. the other end of the world. where she belongs. if you ask me.
needless to say that the peace and quiet we were enjoying during her absence will be sourly missed. its daylong shrill giggling fits all the way to hysterics again, door slamming sessions when you are trying to fall asleep, pumping bad house music when trying to take a nap. oh fuck nooooo.
its just too fcuking unbearable when a person you have NO respect for can make your life so miserable. daily!
ugly red - you know the type. ugly as hell, shortcropped strawy red hair, extremly short and skinny, glasses. yet louder than the bomb. clearly compensating. pathetic.
what else? the words whore and cnut come to mind - eventhough i am quite sure this is not how she makes a living - she could not, even if she tried, is more to the point - and i certainly do not want to get anywhere near any of her shriveled up, i am sure, sexual organs. these words screamed, what am i saying, spewed at her while she lies on the messy floor under my dirty boot. she is lying there trying to wiggle her way out, while i spit every swearword in the book at her…

ah nice!

Downhill Battle - Eyes on the Screen: Share Eyes on the Prize in Your Community

Downhill Battle is now distributing copies of the legendary civil rights documentary “Eyes on the Prize”, which has been unavailable for ten years due to copyright restricitions. We are working to organize nationwide screenings on February 8.

“I would call upon everyone who has access to ‘Eyes on the Prize’ to openly violate any and all laws regarding its showing.”
Lawrence Guyot, Former leader of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party

pieceoBolitix ideeSwiss anti-WEF protest in bern contd.

after the peaceful protests against WEF this last wknd in bern the focus is now on the massive police presence. the police is still not willing to produce the numbers of how many policemen were in service and of the costs for this exaggerated presence.

daniele jenni green party politician and a member of the bernese city legislative has put forward a motion for these numbers to be made public.

meanwhile the journalists tradeunion comedia is considering to take legal action against the police for disproportionate, repressive methods. among the 84 people arrested were 2 journalists. they were clearly deprived their journalistic freedom. the police insists on their version of the story that all the 84 detainees were people carrying materials, that would have been used for destructive acts. to be fair, among other things [for instance eggs! see photos online @ bernergazette] molotov cocktails and few cans of spraypaint were confiscated.
but the reasons why the 2 journalists were arrested seems frankly absurd (which allows doubts to arise if among the 82 others some might have been arressted for similar, flimsy reasons).
one of them writes for the leftist weekly newspaper WOZ and was arrested for carrying a short piece of barbed wire; something activists planned to hand to people in the streets as a symbolic performance. the piece was only a few centimeters long, so its really questionable how much harm it could have done. the other journalist works for local alternative radio station RABE and it is rumoured that he was arrested for carrying a filt pen. the RABE journalist claims he was kept handcuffed for 5 hours and even had to strip out of hisd clothes during his arrest. for carrying a filt pen…

crazy!

elsewhere fsrn.org has still not aired anything about the protests.
while telepolis has published a great article [in german].

for tomorrow thursday 27.01.05 18.15 hg bern a new demonstration is planned to adress among other things the attitude of the police and the city government not grating a permit for a propper demonstration.

pieceoBabbel pieceoBeatz pieceoCast podcast from my blog

okay, i admit it.
sometimes i am a bit on the thick side.
it finally occurred to me that my dj-mixes could be a form of podcast. so i finally set up a podcast feed for my blog.

this will pick up all the mp3s and the occasional own dj-mix i link to here.

add the link to your podcast software like ANT or iPodderX and bingo.
