my last name is zuppinger, so of course i am quite curious what the hell zupping means. as far as i can tell the column comments misshapps on TV.

isn’t this a brilliant banner?

i found it on the aftrlife, a tom robbins fan site, while doing a round of the internet trying to check, if there are any rumors on an upcoming tom robbins novel to be found - it’s not for the first time, that i did such a round, i might add.

i really love this banner, because it expresses what i have observed in myself and others, that advertisement tends to have a counter-effect. and i even think, it goes beyond that. i have gotten immune to online advertisement. i simply don’t see it anymore, i have an inbuilt-filter that lets me skip over it.

oh, and btw., there are still no news on the next tom robbins novel. anyone knows anything?

wikipedia received better notes than brockhaus in a german study comparing the two online encyclopedias, that was commissioned by stern magazine. the information found on wikipedia appears to be much more up-to-date, and who is surprised really. but still, this is great news, that attests quality to user-generated online content.

“somebody” should do something against the revision of the swiss copyright law, that will otherwise take effect january 24th 2008, i moaned a few days ago, but i gave up in despair about a minute later.

well, others have taken matters into their own hands and started a referendum.

A dangerous law has been passed on the 5th October by both the Parliment and the National Council almost without resistance. The revision represents massive advances for legal protection of copy protection mechanisms.

It is my conviction that such technical copy protection measures are of no merit for the consumer and will ultimately also harm the content producers. A law that puts such measures under special protection is hence just as ill advised.
