Title: Not Bad But Too Nice

A coot sits on some branches next to its empty nest where the eggs have been swept away or stolen
Sad coot is sad

At first i called this mix: With John Tejada Through The Ages.
Because it contains three songs by Tejada, from 2011, 2015 and 2022 respectively.
Then: Can We Have Some Rap With This?
Because for some reason i decided to add housey rap tracks.

But then i watched This Town on the BBC.

The mix clocks at 125 bpm, most of it a four-four beat.
Which is untypical for me.
It has been ready for some time.
But i hesitated to post it.

The reason why is because i often get kept awake all night by techno or house beats, at 125 bpm or higher, four-to-the-floor all night long.
Even a long distance away i can feel the bass in my body.
It feels like torture.
But then i wonder how birds and how many other animals feel about these parties.

What horror would it be, to be kept awake by my own mix like that?!

It’s a hypothetical.
But hey.
You never know.

All i can do is hope that people listen to my mixes in considerate ways.
If anyone even does listen to them.
And who cares anyway.

Here’s an even better idea:
Listen to bird song instead of this mix.

“Our grandmother used to wake us up. She used to say. It’s not arranged. Or organized. It’s the best music in the world.”

Gregory Williams, the brother of Danté, is talking about bird song in the sample from This Town in the middle of the mix. While he stands between enemy lines on a battlefield somewhere in Northern Ireland during the troubles.

He then continues: “This whole war. This whole thing. It’s about music. Did you know that? Because to the east, they have their song. And to the west, they have their song. Why don’t you just sing together?” But i did not put that in.

But, by the way, This Town is the best series so far in this year.
It’s a must-see.
Yup.

A small elephant is throwing a tantrum in the mud, an larger elephant looks on
Ma nümm
