I recently wrote on twitter (where no one hears it, and I am repeating it here, were no one hears it one more time):
“What’s the fucking point, if humanity needs to take another round in fascism.”
So how did this mix of older italian protest songs come about? Do you need another dose of hope, old man?

Recently while watching something on youtube before the actual video they spammed a commercial for a furniture store where a woman was singing an adaptation of Bela Ciao with the lyrics adapted to spell the name of the store.
I almost puked.
Then yesterday some dude on twitter named Lungo La Strada his favorite song by Milva.
So I started digging for protest songs by cantautori from Italy (with the help of this paper: From cantautori to posse: Sociopolitical Discourse, Engagement and Antagonism in the Italian Music Scene from the 60s to the 90s; William Anselmi).
